About
Lauren is a Landscape Architect and passionate plant lover based in the Goulburn Valley region of Central Victoria. Her portfolio spans some of Australia’s most celebrated public realm, education, healthcare, community, and residential projects—including the award-winning GV Health Therapeutic Courtyard in Shepparton, recipient of the AILA Victoria Award.
Lauren brings a collaborative, site-specific, and creative approach to each project, resulting in thoughtful and functional landscapes that foster meaningful connections between people, plants, and place. She is passionate about creating site-specific narratives, guided by a deep appreciation for the natural environment and a commitment to sustainable design thinking.
“Landscape architects are specialists in connecting people to place. We work collaboratively to not only provide beautiful and engaging settings, but also to stitch together often isolated spaces into richer social experiences.”
Her landscape practice is firmly grounded in the local context and environment, shaped by an intimate understanding of the Goulburn Valley and strong, trusted relationships with clients, communities, and stakeholders throughout the region.
Testimonial
“Lauren bought incredible vision and creativity to our space and transformed this old girl into a radiant beauty. Weaving the plantings into the colours and character of our home, Lauren introduced us to plants we’d never even heard of, grouping them in combinations that are constantly surprising and delightfully complimentary.
Lauren is energetic, creative, considered, and wonderfully relaxed and engaging.'‘

Services
Lauren approaches each project with a collaborative, creative mindset that responds directly to the site’s unique character. Her designs result in thoughtful, functional landscapes that nurture meaningful relationships between people, plants, and place.
Every project is treated as a distinct design, shaped by a deep understanding of the site, its architecture, and the needs, values, and everyday rhythms of those who bring it to life.
-
The first step in the design process is an on-site consultation with Lauren to discuss your project, during which she will assess the site’s conditions, aspect, and opportunities, provide recommendations and collaborate on ideas and budget. A written proposal will follow, outlining the design brief, process, and associated fees.
Upon acceptance of your fee proposal, the design process at lalalandscapes begins.
-
Depending on the scale and goals of your project, a Landscape Master Plan may be required to clarify both short-term and long-term objectives. This plan helps establish a clear vision for the site—addressing functionality, aesthetics, user experience, landscape character, and key interfaces. Master Plans are valuable tools that consolidate ideas, prioritise upgrades, and support discussions with stakeholders and relevant authorities, while also serving as strategic documents for securing funding.
-
During the concept design phase, we combine the agreed project brief and your vision into a single, scaled plan that illustrates the full scope of the project, including hard and soft landscaping elements, decorative features, and an indicative plant and material palette presented through precedent imagery.
-
Upon approval of the design concept, we refine and develop your design through detailed drawings, specifications, and all necessary documentation for the implementation of the project, ensuring everything is suited for accurate pricing and efficient construction.
-
We offer project management services for project implementation, including plant procurement and on-site set-out if required. Our involvement can be tailored to your needs—ranging from periodic site inspections to full management of the construction contract—ensuring a smooth and well-coordinated delivery of the design.
